The first Generation Google Pixel series

At the time the first generation Google pixel phone was launched, it was considered one of the best Smartphone of 2016. And I can still tell you it is one of the best smartphones around today. This first generation Google pixel series is the Google pixel and the Google pixel XL. They were launched on October 4, 2016, during the “madebyGoogle” event. It has since then, received a lot of praises and quite several criticisms too. Some said the first generation Google pixel happens to look kind of dull. Quite many people got thrown off because of its limited storage options and the price it goes for.

However, the Google Pixel has one of the best cameras on any phone, as the picture captured by its camera is awesome and superior to that of other high-priced smartphones, like the Samsung Galaxy S8. The Google Pixel and Google pixel XL are more of the same, except for the screen size, resolution and battery capacity. The branding of the Google pixel might be a little confusing to you, as both the Google pixel and Google pixel XL are called Google Pixel in the market. Well, do not worry, because the only differences between them are their screen size, resolution and battery capacity. Every other feature of the phones is quite the same.

The Google pixel XL has a 5.5” display with 1440×2560 resolutions and a 3,450mAH battery capacity. While the Google pixel has a 5.0” display with 1080×1920 resolutions and a 2770mAH battery capacity.

The New Google Pixel 2

Having listened to all the praises and criticism from users of the first generation Google pixel, the search engine giants have developed a new Google pixel Smartphone called the Google pixel 2 which is an upgrade to the first generation Google Pixel. The Google pixel 2, like the first generation Google pixel, comes in two types: Google pixel 2 and Google pixel 2 XL.

So, you can drop it in a water of up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, and still retrieve the Smartphone with no problem. With the Google pixel 2 launching with android Oreo, Google is said to have given the Google pixel 2 series three years guaranteed software updates. This means that by the year, 2018, 2019 and 2020, the Google pixel 2 could be running on the latest Android version, during those years.

On Google Pixel 2 eSIM

The Google pixel 2 also has what is called eSIM. The eSIM allows you to connect to a network without a physical SIM card. Just for clarity, the Google pixel2 still supports the physical SIM cards.

The pre-order for the Google pixel 2 started the day it was launched. While, the shipping for Google pixel 2 will start by October 19 in the United States, and the shipping in other countries will start by late October. The shipping for Google pixel 2 XL will start in late October, early November in the United States, and the shipping in other countries will start by late November. The Google pixel starts at $649 for the 64GB model, and the Google pixel 2 XL starts at $849 for the 64GB model.

There has not been much to see as regards the shortcomings of the new Google Pixel 2, but some have argued that the Google pixel 2 XL screen is not as impressive, from a design point of view, as the Samsung Galaxy S8.
